The reconditioning process generally takes between 4 to 6 hours depending on your hair. The Yuko system will work successfully on almost all hair types even colored and highlighted hair. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my hair remain straight after I wash it?

A: Yes it will but that doesn't end your responsibility. As with anything that we want to remain beautiful Thermal Reconditioned hair has to be cared for with quality products. Shampoo and conditioner are the most important.

Q: Will my hair remain straight forever?

A: Forever is a very long time but your hair will remain straight and with proper care and by retouching the roots (which will be in your natural state) you can have straight hair forever.

Q: Can I color my hair?

A: 12 days after you can do anything you want to your hair but there are things that are not advisable.

Q: I've heard that highlights are a problem, is that true?

A: As with any new process it is always better to start off with your natural hair color, but in todays world that is just wishful thinking on the part of the hair stylist. The Yuko system now has a special developer for colored and highlighted hair which takes a little longer to process but you still have the same great results. If by chance your hair has been overly damaged by highlights we will let you know in advance if it is in your best interest to have or not have the thermal straightening.

Q: Is this process damaging?

A: Again, it depends. Like blow dryers and irons, this process is not damaging but the hairdresser may be if he lacks experience. Many factors play into this so be sure to hide nothing from your prospective hairdresser. Experience however counts. In short, the process need not be damaging.
